Beaver Service Info

Welcome to our information page for Beaver Motor Coaches.  While it is quite Beaver-centric, the owners of SOB's (Some Other Brands) will also find it useful since very little of what goes into an RV is exclusive or proprietary to any particular brand or model.  You will also discover that the emphasis here is on older pre-Monaco coaches because the information and factory support for coaches built during Beaver and Safari ownership is limited.  We strive to avoid copyright infringement by having links to copyrighted material than duplicating the material on our site.

This site originated with information on projects we did on our own coach, a growing proportion is stuff another owner had and was gracious enough to provide the information and photos to post it here.

Disclaimer: You and only you are responsible for any work, maintenance, repair or modification you chose to make to your RV.  You are solely responsible for following safe work procedures as well as the results of  any work you perform, whether you relied on any information found here or not.  The information provided here is just a description of what we did, what worked for us or perhaps what didn't work for us.

If you have information and/or a photo story that you'd like to see on these pages, or any comments, suggestions, please feel free to contact me directly at

bulletExhaust Manifold Bolt Repair -  HTML page or PowerPoint

In July 2006 during a pre-trip visual inspection I discovered 4 of the bolts that hold the exhaust manifold to the cylinder head.  Two each for cylinders 5 & 6.  Things got worse when I began disassembling the engine.  Three of the four turbo mounting bolts broke taking the turbo off the exhaust manifold.  Before the manifold was off the engine, 11 out of 12 exhaust manifold bolts were broken.

Why?  Well, it appears that there was a gradual shifting of the exhaust manifold as it went through many heating and cooling cycles while being pushed by a constant tension from the exhaust pipe.  After 11 years, the exhaust manifold did not line up correctly with the bolt holes and ports in the cylinder head and the attaching bolts were forced to lean towards the front of the engine (note, the front of the engine in a diesel pusher is at the rear of the coach).  This leaning caused a bending tension on the bolt where it exited the cylinder head and the bolts began breaking. Click on this thumbnail and you'll see the bolt leaning.

A couple of pages have been started . . .
(That's another way of saying they're seriously under construction)

The NEW Brochure Archives have been kick started by a donation from Buck & Marsha.

Another NEW page is the Technical Documents page.

Under Construction:  Beaver Model Line Information

Even though our first Beaver was an 11-foot cab-over camper, we don't have much in the way of information, data or history prior to 1993.  If you have information on Beaver coaches prior to 1993, please let me know
