Welcome to Steve's Shooting Pages

The goal of these pages is to provide a resource of good information for anyone looking for information about firearms; a sort of clearing house of information about guns and the Second Amendment. I'll do my best to se that what you find here is reasonably accurate. Please don't get your knickers in a knot because you disagree with something trivial. Of course, if you find something seriously wrong, then please go ahead and let me know, politely. OTOH, if you find something here that is contrary to a known anti-gun site, well that's to be expected.

This site is going to be mostly links to all kinds of good info about firearms themselves, accessories, upgrades, gunsmiths, training and education, politics, the shooting sports, and legal stuff including the Second Amendment. While I've has some stuff on our website about firearms for years, I just started this new project in the wee hours of January 1, 2020. It's bound to be a work in progress for as long as I'm able.

So who am I anyway?  My dad was scared spitless of guns. Well, the truth is that my dad was scared of a whole lot of things that he'd never admit to, but he was absolutely terrified of guns. So my first experience with guns was with the M14 rifle when I went to Army Boot Camp at Fort Ord, California. I hadn't planned on joining the military, but like a lot of young men back then Uncle Sam had other plans. Turned out it was a good enough fit for me to stick around for 26 years; first in the Army and then the Coast Guard.

Let me say a few words about the NRA. If you are a gun owner, or perhaps even just thinking about becoming one, you need to join the NRA. Yes, I know the NRA isn't perfect. I certainly don't agree with some of their decisions in recent years. I know folks that think they are Fudds because they seem to have gone soft on some issues. However, there is no other organization that has done as much for gun owners over course of the last hundred or so years as the NRA.
