Jefferson County Sportsmen's Association presents the National Shooting Sports Foundation's

First Shots (Level 1)

The biggest challenge for new shooters is getting started. A First ShotsŪ seminar makes getting started in shooting very easy! This course is for a person who has little or no gun experience. We will start with a lecture portion in the Club House learning skills to safely operate, load, and unload a handgun, and proper fundamentals of shooting. We then break the class into groups and head into the range to put those fundamentals to use, with a supervised course of fire to install confidence on the firing line. This class is not focused on accuracy but more on developing safe habits and confidence when shooting at our range or any other. The First Shots seminar provides a great foundation for further firearm instruction.

No need to bring a firearm.  We supply the gun, ammo, eye and ear protection. No prior firearm experience is necessary.

In addition to the 22LR handguns for new shooters, we will have a variety of 9mm handguns available for participants to experience and assist them with the selection of their first new gun purchase.

Attendees must be legally permitted to possess a firearm. Minors (21 years old per WA state law for handguns) must have a parent or guardian present on the range at all times. All participants must bring a valid government issued photo id and sign a waiver.
